Supporting local authorities in their water protection and biomass heating projects
Drawing on our experience working with local authorities and the MisTigation R&D project, we have produced a guide for local authorities: "High environmental value miscanthus boilers: sustainable energy with a positive impact on your local challenges."
This guide provides a range of answers to the following questions: What opportunities are available for local authorities to grow miscanthus? What are the conditions for implementing local supply chains? In particular, how can local authorities organize themselves and what are the economic parameters that can guide this organization?
As they turn the pages, readers will discover that growing miscanthus can help address a number of challenges, such as creating connections within the region, preserving the quality of water distributed to residents, reducing mudslides around inhabited areas, mitigating climate change, preserving air quality, and creating a refuge for wildlife biodiversity.
Novabiom offers support to local authorities and regional stakeholders (water boards, farmers' collectives, etc.) to implement projects:
Advice on structuring local supply chains
Identifying opportunities with local authorities
Promotion of ecosystem and environmental services
Our achievements:
Programs for planting miscanthus in priority feeding and catchment areas with numerous municipalities:
Chartres, Dreux, Poitiers, Eau 17, Mont de Marsan, Douarnenez Habitat, Comcom des Sablons (60), CA2BM (62), etc.
Combating erosion:
Several programs to plant miscanthus in the northwest quadrant, organized by Chambers of Agriculture (Innobioma, Normandy) or hunting federations (Aisne, Oise, Eure, NPDC, etc.).
